Have we always been a culture of demanding things that we just do not deserve? I do a lot of work in the customer service field and find that most, not all, people annoy me with this attitude.
I grew up in a single family home where we were taught to work hard for what you want because nothing is handed to you. Even speaking to people of my own generation; the attitude is that they deserve everything and yet do not want to give anything. How can an individual get mad about not getting something when they have put zero effort into the outcome. It’s no wonder the stress level has risen so much in this world. We have the people that want everything, and will yell about it. Then we have the people that have to deal with those people.
It’s sad and I feel fear of what this world is turning into. How do we make that change when most of the parents out there today are the ones that want everything. They don’t know how to teach their children to work for things because they themselves will not do it. Children will always mimic what you do but will normally never listen to what you say until they get older. Unfortunately, habits are formed very young and are extremely hard to change.
Watching all the hatred and fighting in the world scares me and gets me mad sometimes too. If parents had only taken the grip sooner and taught them the right things early on then maybe we wouldn’t have all of this. I know that some parents intentionally teach children to hate so it wouldn’t stop it all, that would be ignorant to think. But at least we might have more common sense in the world. Why kill off the one thing that everyone would enjoy, peace.
I guess I got a little away from my topic, it just got me going. It would never have dawned on me as a child to throw a tantrum in a store or on the phone when I wasn’t getting my way. To hear an adult throw a tantrum over the phone for a simple issue just blows my mind. Where are the priorities? Food, water, shelter and hopefully clothing, should be on your mind first. Not whether you get extra miles or extra pickles depending on where you are. Really? Get a life, get a job and get real.
